This Discovery Yachts brand will be well known to blue water sailors the world over.
Solent Marine Surveys carried out a pre-purchase survey on this 2007 model at Lymington Yacht Haven. She was a beautifully kept Discovery 55 which had only had one owner.
While outwardly similar to the Oyster range, this ‘go anywhere’ blue water cruiser is constructed differently. They have an end grain balsa core construction to the hull – both below the waterline and to the topsides, as well as to the deck, coachroof and superstructure.
Most of these vessels have been cruised extensively including to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. This particular Discovery had been lightly used and was a real steal for the new owner, who will be taking her to the South of France as her home port.
