These raised saloon “deck saloon” style yachts are a true all-purpose cruising design which we are very familiar with, as we own a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 39DS ourselves. The excellent design offers much to the cruising sailor: a very comfortable cockpit with permanent fixed central table with two folding leaves, a roomy and well thought out saloon, good sleeping accommodation and a huge and easily accessible fridge in the galley!
As a surveyor I like the single skin (monolithic) GRP moulding for the hull – both above and below the waterline, and the very sturdy inner liner / grid / tray matrix, which Jeanneau both bond in with structural epoxy adhesive and laminate to give extra security in the event of any knocks, bumps or groundings.
