Like many Princess Yachts vessels this one presented itself well and was structurally sound overall. Albeit with some crazing around the toerail.

One recurring theme on some Princess Yachts models, and several other manufacturer’s models too, is the use of the powder coatings to the alloy frames. This includes the frames for the windscreen and the various hatches throughout. This is also true on several sailing yachts where powder coatings are also used for the wheel pedestal.

Historically the hatch frames would have been silver anodised. This is a system that has stood the test of time for many years. More recently however, several manufacturers have been opting for powder coated frames. These are often seen to bubble and flake even when a vessel really isn’t particularly old, leading to costly remedial work or replacement.
